By accessing and using GetPassnow ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2) Description of Service
GetPassnow is a free, browser-based password generator that uses cryptographically secure random number generation (crypto.getRandomValues()) to create strong passwords locally in your browser.
Key Feature: All password generation happens client-side. Generated passwords never leave your browser or reach our servers.
3) Use License
You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for:
- Personal use: Generate passwords for your own accounts
- Commercial use: Use in business contexts (employees, IT departments)
- Educational use: Teaching password security practices
You may not:
- Attempt to reverse engineer or modify the Service
- Use automated systems to generate excessive requests
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices
- Use the Service for any illegal purposes
4) No Warranty
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
While we use industry-standard cryptographic methods (Web Crypto API), we do not guarantee:
- That generated passwords will never be compromised
- Complete protection against all security threats
- Compatibility with all browsers or devices
- Availability at all times
5) Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- GetPassnow and its creators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
- This includes damages from unauthorized access, data loss, or service interruption
- Our total liability shall not exceed $0 (zero dollars)
6) User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
- Password storage: Securely storing generated passwords (we recommend using a password manager)
- Password usage: Using passwords appropriately and never sharing them
- Device security: Keeping your device and browser updated
- Account security: Enabling 2FA where available
- Compliance: Following applicable laws and regulations
7) Privacy & Data Protection
Our data practices are governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:
- Zero-knowledge architecture – we never see your passwords
- GDPR and CCPA compliant by design
- No user accounts or personal data collection
- Client-side generation only
8) Service Modifications
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue the Service at any time
- Update features or technical implementation
- Change these Terms with notice via this page
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
9) Compliance & Standards
GetPassnow follows industry best practices:
- Cryptography: Web Crypto API (
crypto.getRandomValues()) - Transport: HTTPS-only for all connections
- Privacy: Designed with GDPR/CCPA principles
- Security: No database, no server-side processing
10) Third-Party Services
The Service may use:
- CDN providers for serving static assets (CSS, JavaScript libraries)
- Hosting providers for static site hosting
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
11) Intellectual Property
The Service's design, code, and content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the Service without permission.
12) Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the Service is operated.
13) Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
